Happy Easter

This was a great Easter with family.
My Mother went to Heaven last May, but I made her
favorite Vanilla Rolled cookies for some of the grand kids.
I don't bake too often any more, but this was a special occasion.
Grandma's Vanilla Rolled Cookies
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 well beaten eggs
Mix well.
Add 3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla.
Mix until well blended.
Chill dough 3-4 hours before rolling out.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Roll the dough on a floured surface. Cut cookies with a cookie cutter.
Bake 6-8 minutes, or until barely colored.
Can be frosted or eaten plain.
The icing keeps them soft.
Store in an airtight container.
I did not have an egg shaped cookie cutter, so I used a soft plastic glass
and squeezed it slightly to make the right shape.

We went to Walmart early this morning to avoid the holiday crowd.
They sure had the right idea! Can't get away
from it...ART!!!
There are photo ops everywhere you go.

Painting again...WOYWW

At least I am attempting to paint again. It has been a long time.
I have been making jewelry, and other things, which I am still doing,
but just feel the need, as I get ready for my journal class, to paint again.
I have missed Julie and  the girls over here, and I am anxious to see what they
have been up to. If you are curious, just head over to Stamping Ground and have a look around.

Loved once again

Two of my favorites!
Various vintage items brought together with a little love
to become something new. I love to mix it up, colors, metals,

chains, etc.

Show and Tell

Gift bags used at the jewelry show and sale.
We had a great time, and yes many items went to new owners.
These are a few of the pieces that sold. There were many more, and I can't wait to get back into the studio. Thanks to everyone who came out for the show and sale!

Irish Green!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day
Watching the March Madness basketball games!
As an artist I know that red + green make brown,
so I stuck with the red wine. :>)

Back necklace

Here is the latest; known as the back necklace.
Pretty from the front and then hangs down the back also.
It will be at the sale and show Tuesday evening at Frills!
I think it is actually prettier on a bare back, but still too chilly for that.
