Blue Monday

Blue is my favorite color, so I always try to be a part of Blue Monday.
I have met some pretty interesting people who love blue also.
I have this really neat blue shirt that got a grease spot right on the front of it.
Almost pitched the shirt, but then got this idea to try something that I have been wanting to experiment with.
Went to the grocery and bought a bleach stick. It has a fine point on one end, and a round brush on the other end. It comes out pretty thick and is easy to use. After the shirt dried overnight, I washed the bleach paste out.
I was pleased with the results. Although I could have painted it with white fabric paint, I wanted to try something new. What do you think?

Madonna of the Streets

Still working on the Madonna series. This lady is Madonna of the Streets. These colors are some of my favorites, however not sure about the pearls; may be too much. There are blue stones near the top, and an antique pin on the bottom left. I have had that pin for as long as I can remember. The back was broken off, so it was put to good use. The collages all vary in size depending on what fabrics I pull out to use. This finished piece is about 11X14. I hang mine on the wall as is, but it could be framed if wanted.

Lap Quilt

I promised a few posts back that I would share one of my sister's beautiful quilts.
This lap quilt was gifted to me. She knows that I love blue, and also the old masters. She calls this one Starry,Starry Night.

I don't know if that is the official name of the pattern, but I love it, and use it often, and of course think of her and all the hard work and design that went into making it.
