Fireside
Today I am most thankful for s'mores!
Remember those girl scout days?
The Hershey bars are a little thinner and the marshmallows
a little smaller, but the method is the same, and they are just as yummy
as they were years ago. Only difference is, since everything is smaller,
you can have 2 instead of one!

Roasted and Salted
Today I am thankful for the plentiful supply of pecans this year.
We have several trees in our yard. There are at least 3 kinds of
pecans, all sizes and shapes. I have used them in baking, and we have eaten plenty.
I wanted to roast some, but did not want to use butter, like most of the
articles on line said to do. One article suggested wetting the pecans in a colander,
shaking the water off, and spreading them on a cookie sheet. I sprinkled sea salt on lightly,
and roasted at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes. They are so good; I know they won't last long.

Pumpkin Bread
Today, I am thankful for food.
Just in time for the holidays, I discovered Libby's Pumpkin bread mix.
Everything is in the box, even the can of pumpkin!
I added roasted pecans and dried cranberries to make it even better.
There was a small bag of icing included, which I did not think it needed.
My critique group thought it was great! Since I have not been painting,
I had to have something for them to critique. :)) We had to eat several pieces
to decide just how good it is.
