Happy Valentine's Day

These look good enough to eat, but they are pretty hard.
Thay are rocks with a message, to use as a paper weight,
or whatever. They are my valentines for some special friends.
I used gesso first, then acrylic paint. I wrote with a Sharpie and then

added Triple Thick to give them shine.

Gelli Prints

Over the weekend I played around with Gelli prints.
Of course I had to make the jello plate first. I had watched a couple of videos
on you-tube first, but oh my goodness, what a mess I made!
Do not try to transport a tray full of jello to your fridge.
It splashed over just enough to get in the fridge, on the floor,
and everywhere in between. I must have missed some instruction
along the way. Anyway, all's well that ends well, and this is what I
produced the first time around. I'm sure I will be playing at this again
to get some more sophisticated prints.

We have had such beautiful weather here that it is difficult to stay inside, but I did manage to make a few pendants. I used washers and alcohol inks and sari silk. These turned out to look like a lot more than they really are. I gave one away for a birthday present and sold one. I think I will be making more of these.

I've been busy on a new project; finally got in the mood to make some more jewelry.
I have a lot of vintage jewelry to re-purpose and reassemble. The possibilities are endless;
sometimes it makes me dizzy thinking about it, but fun all the same.

I love turquoise, so this is a favorite. Then I went in a completely different direction; I will post those tomorrow.

Found Treasures

These are some of the rocks found at the bottom of Lake Travis when it was very shallow.
There were actually many adventurous searches, finding a lot of artifacts.
