Three generations

Three generations making Christmas cookies.
These wreaths were so easy, especially using the microwave.
All you need is 1 stick of butter; add 2 cups of mini marshmallows.
Put in microwave about 2 minutes or until the butter and marshmallows are melted.
Stir in a couple drops of green food coloring, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp almond extract, and enough corn flakes to hold it all together.
Put cookies on plate and add 3 red hots (candy) to the top, pushing a little so that they will stick.
Looks  so pretty and taste really good too. The kids love to help with these.
We also made peanut butter balls. I used this recipe; 1 cup of powdered milk, 1 cup of peanut butter, and 1/2 cup of honey. Mix well and roll into balls and then in toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy with your family and friends.

Road Trip

We visited a home with lots of beautiful folk art. These are a few of the pieces.
The wooden structures are especially interesting; they each have their own unique story.
I could spend all day going from room to room visiting the folk art.

Road Trip

I have been on a Holiday road trip. I have seen some unusual sights, especially this deer head with sun glasses and a Santa hat; it hangs above my grandson's bed. My granddaughter's room is filled with beautiful patterned pillows. This came in handy because I have been studying patterns for a class; The Art of Surface Pattern Design, featuring  Rachael Taylor. You can read more about it at www.dowhatyouloveforlife.com

Monopoly

Does anyone still have a really old Monopoly game? I sure wish I had kept mine;
the new ones just aren't the same. I saw this idea on the home tour this year.
Really is a good way to preserve all the little pieces, as well as show it off.
The other game is Parcheesi, and I've never heard of the 3rd one.
The framed games were lined up on the wall, and looked pretty smart.

WOYWW

What's on Your Work desk Wednesday??
These totes are what I have been doing.
Just got them finished so my desk is clear, for now.
Trying to clean up for the Holidays. We will be celebrating
with the youngest grand daughter that still "believes".
They grow up too fast.
These totes are about 12X12 and can be used
to carry anything around in style!
Go here to see what everyone else is doing today.

Rit Dye

They are giving it away over here.
All you have to do is enter and answer a few questions.
I sure could have used this dye when I was going through my
dying stage a few weeks ago. The colors are beautiful, and there is a chart for
mixing colors to get just the right shade. I also went to the Rit site and there
are tons of ideas. I feel a new project coming on !
