Home tour

Today the weather was crispy cool; just right for the Historic Home Tour.
We saw 5 incredible homes. All of them very old, but very beautiful.
It is fun to see the creative ways that home owners have made upgrades
and improvements. Most all were decorated for Christmas which made it extra nice.

More Christmas

This is the "coca cola" room in the home we saw yesterday.
The tree is decorated with all kinds of coke cans and everything in the room is coke related.
The bar and the floor are beautiful black and white tiles.
I don't think the pictures do it justice, but it was sure wonderful.
Sue is a very generous and caring person who likes to share what she has
with kids and adults alike. She loves to visit with everyone, and even has a small
gift to give; something she has made.

Believe it or not!!!

I am still having trouble believing what I saw today. A house FULL of Christmas; every room, every corner of every room,  full of Christmas, nutcrackers, trees, dolls,Santas, etc. etc. Sue Smith lives in Georgetown and decorates her home every year for the shear pleasure of it. She allows anyone to come to visit. She said," Please call first and I will put the coffee on." We enjoyed a tour of her huge home, every room with a different theme. Her "coca cola room was especially fun to see. I could probably go back every day and see something new that I had not seen before.

Christmas Songs

Remember this song book from way back? I used the little girl's image for a photo transfer and embellished with fabric collage. Finished piece is approximately 9X13 and only cost $45.

Reason for the Season

This is one of the fabric collage that I hung at the Library yesterday.
It is made from vintage fabric and laces, with a photo transfer of the
Holy Family. It is especially nice if you don't have a lot of room
for Christmas decorations, or if you just want something a little special.

Four Friends

The Library looks great; we four friends hung our art today. The show will be there all month.
There is a variety of media, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oil, and fabric collage.
We will host a reception and sale on Sunday, Dec. 11th from 12-3 o'clock. Plenty of coffee and pastries available. The Library is such a beautiful place to show art. There are also several sculptures to see and 4 or 5 colorful mobiles hanging from the high ceiling. The Library will be open for business also, in case you need a good book to read, or you would like to check out a movie. We would love to see everyone there, so you can see what keeps us busy.

Blue Monday

Used the blue plate for the heart shaped waffles.
Grandee and I made these on her Thanksgiving visit.
We got the idea from Jean's blog Sweet Nothings.
You just use biscuits in a can (Grands or somethings similar).
They were very tasty and so easy for the young ones.
The blue and white plates got quite a work out for the big dinner.
See what else is blue at Smiling Sally's blog
