A rainy day project
A neighbor brought over a jar of little rose buds from her bushes. I put them in my Ball jar and got out the oil paints. I felt like I was on a time line because these little roses open quickly. They were pretty colors of red, coral, and pink. There is always more that can be done,
but for now, I think it is finished.

Coloring Mandalas
Did you ever dream that you had a whole book of Mandalas to color? This little book illustrated by Wendy Piersall is just that. Wonderful images, some a bit ethereal, are ready for your copic pens, or colored pencils. The designs are well detailed, however still have ample room to make your mark. It is published by Ulysses Press, and was sent to me for review. The perfect way to spend some quiet time when things get hectic.

Weaving
This spider web can be a place where I get tangled up and stuck, or it can become a beautiful tapestry in life. I see lines of connections, reaching out to explore new beginnings, new possibilities. These lines show energy, power, accomplishment, and rhythm. The spider brings the world into being through her delicate, rhythmic weaving. What am I weaving this year? This is an exercise from the book: The Mandala Workbook, A creative guide for self-exploration, balance, and well being, by Susanne F. Fincher. You can see more at 100 Mandalas.com

The Rest of the Story
I fell in love with this image, and really the whole idea, of Mary, " the undoer of knots." This is such a cool thought to know that whenever we have a knot that is just too tight, there is someone who can do the job. This thought went so well with my journal page from yesterday, I had to make it my second page.
