Poppy time in Georgetown

This weekend was our annual Poppy Festival. The weather was just beautiful with blue skies
and plenty of poppies blooming around Old Town.
We took our lawn chairs, and listened to the music of "Restless Heart" Saturday evening.
Our guests have left, and its back to normal around here.

I guess this is a new kind of back massage; at least I've never seen it before.

The sunset is always so beautiful on the coast.
I am waiting on a new battery for my camera.
Did not realize how much I use it.
I made a really neat mixed media piece of art but
did not get to take pics of the progression like I usually do.

Making a beach bracelet

This was a fun project for the beach retreat.  I found some foam coozies at Michael's and cut them in 3 slices. We dyed strips of muslin with Walnut Ink, and put them out in the wind to dry. Wrap the muslin around the foam ring and glue with Aleene's Fabric Fusion. Time to embellish with tiny shells, beads, jewels, lace, whatever. I arranged my jewels on a piece of lace and tacked it to the bracelet with a few stitches.
I think you could wear this in the water, however it

was too chilly to test this trip.

This desk is quite a mess right now. I have bracelets cut from a coozie;
dyed muslin to wrap around, and lots of

beads and shells to make it pretty. I know I am going to be making a lot more of these.

Barefoot fun

Yes," Life is Good ".  The art retreat was a lot of fun with old friends, and new friends.
We did some fun art projects; also spent a lot of time just walking barefoot on the beach.
It is so good to be with friends who "get it" when you are gleeful over a heart shaped rock,
or a shadow on the sand. We saw a lot of beautiful birds and flowers.
The beach house was just the right size, and right on the beach.

Progress is being made on my painting, photo transfer, collage.
I added some paint to the tree, and subdued some of the other areas.
I am not finished, but it does look better.

Signs of Spring

I didn't have to travel far to see the signs of Spring.
Actually these geraniums are several months old, and they are
so full and beautiful, I had to put them in my

journal.

The sun is coming up on Surfside beach, and we are gearing up for another Art Retreat!
I made this page in my journal just to remind me of the smell of salty sea water and the fresh morning air.
Looking forward to the good food and a little wine of course, as well as lots of art projects and laughter with good friends. 

Creativity Plus

There is no shortage of creativity in this house!
Hubby has been busy using all those wine corks
that we, (and everyone else) has been collecting.
Honest folks, I like wine, but this is too much!
I think he did a super job; I love it. He bought this piece of furniture
that we use for a bar in an antique store several years ago; it had a bo bo on top, so
this treatment took care of it. We should have done it a long time ago.
Now every time I look at the new bar, I just want to pop a cork
to celebrate!!

WOYWW

Working slowly because of Easter. I did some stenciling on this
and also tried 2 photo transfers. I used the gel medium method,
which did not work as well as I had hoped. I will keep going.
Also working in my journal. I always seem to work with the same colors.
There is a small pile of acrylic chips in the corner which I will probably use on the canvas.
Also painted some metal hearts with alcohol inks. I am using them in my jewelry project. I'm beginning to think I have an attention problem. Slip over here to see what others are doing.

Easter leftovers

This is all we had left after a great Easter dinner.
A pile of dead "peeps", and an empty plate.
Lots of fond memories!

21 Secrets

Yea! 21 Secrets is available today for all those that have signed up.
I am looking forward to getting messy and making some good journal
pages. My favorites will be made into "serious" art. I love to play with my paints, and have so many new ideas. I will be posting some of my fun in days to come.
