Creative adventure
These beautiful colored "scraps" are what is left from the making of saris. I bought a skein, unraveled it, and have been having a ball creating. I used a blank cuff bracelet, using double stick tape to start the fabric on the inside. Because the strip is so narrow, it wraps easily around the bracelet. I stitched it at the end, and then glued little mirrors and gems on here and there. I may also make a necklace of some kind. Does anyone have any ideas for using these strips? I guess you could knit or crochet with them also; haven't tried that yet.
Does anyone out there in blog land remember the blouses we crocheted with strips of fabric, tying little tags of fabric here and there? I wish I still had mine. I would love to see a picture if someone still has one. I probably made mine 30 or 40 years ago. I loved it, but I remember that it did not stretch much so you had to have a correct fit. Let me know your creative ideas.

More goodies
These are the peanut butter balls. I sprinkled powdered sugar
on them for more sweetness. The other ones are "Potato Chip" cookies.
They may have another name, but that is what we call them; very crunchy.
Has anyone heard of Potato Chip cookies, or is that our family name for them??
It is basically a short bread recipe with potato chips.
I would like to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas. Enjoy family, friends, and good food.

Three generations
Three generations making Christmas cookies.
These wreaths were so easy, especially using the microwave.
All you need is 1 stick of butter; add 2 cups of mini marshmallows.
Put in microwave about 2 minutes or until the butter and marshmallows are melted.
Stir in a couple drops of green food coloring, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp almond extract, and enough corn flakes to hold it all together.
Put cookies on plate and add 3 red hots (candy) to the top, pushing a little so that they will stick.
Looks so pretty and taste really good too. The kids love to help with these.
We also made peanut butter balls. I used this recipe; 1 cup of powdered milk, 1 cup of peanut butter, and 1/2 cup of honey. Mix well and roll into balls and then in toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy with your family and friends.

Road Trip
I have been on a Holiday road trip. I have seen some unusual sights, especially this deer head with sun glasses and a Santa hat; it hangs above my grandson's bed. My granddaughter's room is filled with beautiful patterned pillows. This came in handy because I have been studying patterns for a class; The Art of Surface Pattern Design, featuring Rachael Taylor. You can read more about it at www.dowhatyouloveforlife.com

Monopoly
Does anyone still have a really old Monopoly game? I sure wish I had kept mine;
the new ones just aren't the same. I saw this idea on the home tour this year.
Really is a good way to preserve all the little pieces, as well as show it off.
The other game is Parcheesi, and I've never heard of the 3rd one.
The framed games were lined up on the wall, and looked pretty smart.

WOYWW
What's on Your Work desk Wednesday??
These totes are what I have been doing.
Just got them finished so my desk is clear, for now.
Trying to clean up for the Holidays. We will be celebrating
with the youngest grand daughter that still "believes".
They grow up too fast.
These totes are about 12X12 and can be used
to carry anything around in style!
Go here to see what everyone else is doing today.

Rit Dye
They are giving it away over here.
All you have to do is enter and answer a few questions.
I sure could have used this dye when I was going through my
dying stage a few weeks ago. The colors are beautiful, and there is a chart for
mixing colors to get just the right shade. I also went to the Rit site and there
are tons of ideas. I feel a new project coming on !

More Christmas
This is the "coca cola" room in the home we saw yesterday.
The tree is decorated with all kinds of coke cans and everything in the room is coke related.
The bar and the floor are beautiful black and white tiles.
I don't think the pictures do it justice, but it was sure wonderful.
Sue is a very generous and caring person who likes to share what she has
with kids and adults alike. She loves to visit with everyone, and even has a small
gift to give; something she has made.

Believe it or not!!!
I am still having trouble believing what I saw today. A house FULL of Christmas; every room, every corner of every room, full of Christmas, nutcrackers, trees, dolls,Santas, etc. etc. Sue Smith lives in Georgetown and decorates her home every year for the shear pleasure of it. She allows anyone to come to visit. She said," Please call first and I will put the coffee on." We enjoyed a tour of her huge home, every room with a different theme. Her "coca cola room was especially fun to see. I could probably go back every day and see something new that I had not seen before.
